Snowfall Warning Issued For Kawartha Lakes And Peterborough

KAWARTHA LAKES-Environment Canada has issued a Snowfall Warning for our area.

Snowfall warning in effect for:

  • Apsley – Woodview – Northern Peterborough County
  • Lindsay – Southern Kawartha Lakes
  • Peterborough City – Lakefield – Southern Peterborough County

Significant snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm expected Wednesday into Thursday with reduced visibility in heavy snow, rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult.
Isolated power outages are possible Wednesday afternoon until Thursday morning.

A Texas low tracking northeastward is expected to bring snow to the area early Wednesday afternoon until Thursday morning. Snowfall accumulations of 15 cm are expected, with locally higher amounts of up to 20 cm likely.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
