Lindsay Resident Charged With Impaired Driving, Damaging Police Vehicle

KAWARTHA LAKES-A Lindsay resident is facing multiple charges after a report of vehicle being driven erratically.

Police say on Sunday May 9, 2021 at 6:50pm the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service attended the area of Simpson Road and Barron Boulevard in Lindsay for the report of a vehicle driving erratically. The vehicle was allegedly located and while speaking with the driver, the officer detected a strong odour of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver’s breath.

The driver refused to conduct a roadside breath test and during the investigation caused damage to police property according to police. 39-year-old David Bell of Lindsay is charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, failure or refusal to comply with demand and mischief under $5000.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on June 17, 2021.
