KAWARTHA LAKES-Time to chill out Kawartha Lakes, Snowshoe Yoga is here.
Cailey Louttit started practicing yoga in her early twenties to help with back pain. After a while she says she began to notice the healing benefits it has for your mind and your soul and she fell in love with the way it made her feel.Â
She also loved Snowshoeing and one day while out for a treck she started doing yoga poses.
“A few years ago we were out on the trail and decided to play around, trying out some yoga poses. We had so much fun and I thought it would make for a great yoga class.” Louttit told Kawartha 411 News.

Snowshoe yoga is the convergence of snowshoeing and yoga.  Adding snow shoes can make some yoga poses easier and others more challenging according to Louttit.
“It allows us to get outside and to get in touch with our more playful side!”
Loutitt says snowshoeing is also an excellent cardio workout and helps build strength as well as balance.
“Yoga is a centering activity allowing us to become more present and taking the practice outside is an excellent stress reliever and a great way to get some fresh air!”
Louttit has started offering classes at the Gamiing Nature Centre near Bobcaygeon. She is offering public dates as well as private group options and classes are weather dependent. There are 10 snow shoe rentals available or you can bring your own. The first class is  Saturday January 25th, 11am.
“This is an all levels class, beginners are encouraged and welcomed! If you can breathe you are doing yoga. If you can walk, you can snowshoe :)” says Louttit
