ONTARIO-Police say more than $2.3 million worth of suspected fentanyl, equal to approximately 180,000 potential lethal doses, was seized and four individuals were charged in connection with an interprovincial fentanyl trafficking network operating between Ontario and Alberta.
In May 2025, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Border Drug Interdiction Task Force (BDIT) initiated Project OLLIE, an intelligence-led investigation in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Investigators identified an interprovincial network of individuals allegedly trafficking fentanyl between the GTA and Calgary, Alberta. The Calgary Police Service (CPS) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), K Division, were engaged to continue this joint-forces investigation.
“This investigation demonstrates the unwavering commitment of our officers and our policing partners across Canada to dismantle interprovincial drug trafficking networks. Seizing 18 kilograms of suspected fentanyl, which is equivalent to 180,000 potentially lethal doses, means we have prevented a significant threat to public safety. Project OLLIE reflects the power of intelligence‑led, joint‑forces operations and we will continue to pursue those who profit from harm in the communities we serve. We are grateful for the collaboration of the Calgary Police Service, the RCMP and the Winnipeg Police Service.” said OPP Chief Superintendent Mike Stoddart, Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau.
