KAWARTHAS-One individual is facing charges after an officer stopped a tractor.
An officer from the Northumberland OPP was on patrol on County Road 30 in the Municipality of Brighton on February 17 at approximately 11:45 p.m. when a vehicle was observed unable to maintain its lane. A traffic stop was conducted and the officer was led into an impaired driving investigation. The driver was arrested and transported to a detachment for further testing.
19-year-old Jacob Trottman from Warkworth, has been charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
A further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension (ADLS) was initiated as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
