PETERBOROUGH-A 26-year-old Peterborough man is facing domestic-related charges after several incidents were reported to police.
On Friday, November 17, 2023, officers were made aware of a number of alleged incidents between a couple over the course of several months where the female reported being sexually assaulted, slapped, choked, kicked, and that the male was threatening to distribute personal photos of the female. The female also indicated the male had a gun in his vehicle.
At approximately 7:30pm, officers attended a residence in the Brealey Drive and Stenson Boulevard area, when the suspect pulled into the parking lot. Because of the possibility of a firearm a high-risk takedown was conducted including K9 Gryphon to prevent escape. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and a replica gun and ammunition were located and seized from the vehicle. according to police
As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Sexual Assault
- Assault Cause Bodily Harm – Choke, suffocate or strangle
- Assault – Spousal X4
- Extortion
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court at a later date.
