ATV Crash In North Kawartha Township Leaves Driver In Life-Threatening Condition

KAWARTHA LAKES-Peterborough County OPP is investigating a single all-terrain-vehicle (ATV) collision in North Kawartha Township that resulted in the driver being sent to hospital with life-altering/threatening injuries.

On September 9, 2023, at approximately 4:55 pm, Peterborough County OPP received a call advising of a 31-year-old male who had been involved in a collision while riding his ATV on Jack Lake Road. Police say the ATV failed to negotiate a curve in the road, resulting in it driving off the road and striking a rockface. The male sustained what was believed to be life altering/threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Due to the nature of his injuries, the male was later airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre. No name was released.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision, has surveillance video, or has dash-cam footage from this date/time on Jack Lake Road who has not spoken with Police is asked to contact the Peterborough County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
