Lindsay Resident Charged With Impaired Driving In Crash On Highway 7

KAWARTHA LAKES-A two-vehicle collision near Peterborough has resulted in one driver being charged with Impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

Peterborough County OPP officers responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 7 in Otonabee-South Monaghan Township shortly after 8:00 p.m. on September 9, 2023. Upon arrival, officers spoke to both drivers and police say they found one of them to be under the influence of alcohol.

32-year-old Jordan Stewart of Lindsay, ON, was arrested and charged with:

·      Operation while impaired-alcohol

·      Operation while impaired-alcohol – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on October 10, 2023.

The Peterborough County OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight.
