PETERBOROUGH-A 32-year-old City of Kawartha Lakes man is facing an impaired charge after an incident early Thursday morning.
At approximately 2:30am on June 8, 2023, officers received several calls about a collision and possible impaired driver in the Dobbin Road and Lansdowne Street West area. Upon arrival officers located a vehicle matching the description provided to police but no one was in the immediate area. Officers continued to search and located a male matching the description given to police a short distance away. He was taken into custody and taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for assessment. During the investigation, the man was uncooperative with officers, emergency personnel and health care providers according to police.
As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old City of Kawartha Lakes man was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol, Obstruct Peace Officer and Fail to remain. (Highway Traffic Act)
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court June 27, 2023.
