KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP has laid impaired driving charges following a single-vehicle collision involving a golf cart in Laxton Digby Longford Township.
On July 26, 2026, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers responded to a trailer park on Victoria Road in Laxton Digby Longford Township for reports of a single motor vehicle collision involving a golf cart. As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving-related offences. No serious injuries were reported.
A 34-year-old from Clarington, was charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. As a result of the charge, the driver received an immediate 90-day driver’s licence suspension.
