Lindsay Man Charged With Impaired Driving And Assault

KAWARTHA LAKES-A Lindsay man is facing charges after a call about a possible impaired driver.

Kawartha Lake Police responded to the area of Caroline Street and Queen Street in Lindsay for a possible impaired driver on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at approximately 5:30 pm. Officers attended the area and located the alleged vehicle. Police say while speaking with the driver of the vehicle officers observed signs of impairment. As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old Lindsay man was arrested and charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus. 

Later the same evening, the 37-year-old male approached an acquaintance who was parked on Caroline Street speaking to another friend. He struck the male several times, biting his hand before the victim was able to flee the area. The victim attended the Ross Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. As a result, of the attack the accused has been charged with assault. 

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on May 18, 2023. 

Kawartha Lakes Police Service no longer releases the names of people charged with most crimes.
