Freezing Rain Warning In Effect For Our Area

KAWARTHA LAKES-A Freezing Rain warning is in effect for our area.

Freezing rain warning in effect for:

  • Lindsay – Southern Kawartha Lakes
  • Peterborough City – Lakefield – Southern Peterborough County

Freezing rain expected Thursday afternoon and evening with ice accretion up to a few millimetres is possible on untreated surfaces.
A risk of freezing drizzle Thursday night. Freezing rain will begin Thursday afternoon and end early in the evening. Freezing drizzle will be possible Thursday night.

Freezing rain, which may be mixed with ice pellets and snow, is expected to begin Thursday afternoon. Freezing rain will transition to light flurries, possibly mixed with freezing drizzle, early Thursday evening. The risk of freezing drizzle will end Friday morning.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break. Utility outages may occur.
