KAWARTHA LAKES-Here is the municipal hours of operation for the Labour Day long weekend in the City of Kawartha Lakes.
Municipal Administration
All municipal administrative buildings will be closed on Monday, September 5 for the statutory holiday.
Waste and Recycling
Waste and recycling collection will move forward one day next week:
- Regular Monday collection will take place on Tuesday
- Regular Tuesday collection will take place on Wednesday
- Regular Wednesday collection will take place on Thursday
- Regular Thursday collection will take place on Friday
Landfills:
- The Lindsay Ops Landfill will be closed Monday September 5.
- All other landfill sites will be open the following hours:
- Eldon: 11am to 5pm
- Fenelon: 9am to 5pm
- Laxton: 11am to 5pm
- Somerville: 11am to 5pm
Public Library
All library branches will be closed on Monday September 5, regular hours of will resume on Tuesday September 6.
Lindsay Transit
No transit service on Monday September 5.
Parks and Recreation
The Lindsay Recreation Complex and Forbert Memorial Pool will be closed on Monday September 5. Therefore, no fitness or aquatics programs will be running and the Weight Room will be closed as well. These facilities will re-open Tuesday September 6 for regular hours of operation.
All other Parks and Recreation community centres and halls will be closed on Monday September 5. Parks, Playgrounds, Splash Pads, Tennis Courts and Trails will be open for use on Monday September 5.
The Parks and Recreation administration office (50 Wolfe Street) will be closed on Monday September 5 and will re-open Tuesday September 6 for regular hours of operation.
Fireworks Use
Fireworks may only be used on the day before, the day of, and the day after the holiday (September 4 to 6). Per By-Law 2007-236, Labour Day weekend is the last weekend of the year where consumer fireworks are permitted without the need for a permit.
