KAWARTHA LAKES-Bill Denby has been arrested after failing to appear in court.
Kawartha Lakes Police Service Criminal Investigations Branch, with assistance from the KLPS Entry Team, executed a search warrant at his residence on October 28th, 2026.
Police say officers gained entry through boarded-up and fortified doors and safely arrested Denby without incident. He was wanted on committal warrants and other charges pertaining to failing to attend court.
“The Kawartha Lakes Police Service would like to recognize the efforts of all officers involved in bringing this investigation to a successful conclusion while ensuring the safety of the public and those involved.”
In September, Denby was found guilty on three criminal charges after a lengthy jury trial in Lindsay. He was charged with uttering death threats against the Mayor and City council, criminal harassment and intimidating a justice participant stemming from incidents in 2023 and 2024. He plead not guilty and represented himself.
Denby denies sending the email. He told the jurors that a number of people had access to his email accounts.
He claims the charges against him were fabricated due to his group attempting to expose alleged “corruption”. He testified that the police and city officials hatched a plan to kill him.
The 68-year-old male of Cameron, Ontario was held for a bail hearing.
