KAWARTHA LAKES-An 18-year-old is facing charges following a stabbing in Lindsay on Tuesday.
Police say just before 5:00 p.m. officers responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence on Logie Street.
Upon arrival, officers located a female victim suffering from multiple stab wounds and provided medical aid until paramedics arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries according to police.
Officers learned that several suspects had fled the scene prior to police arrival. One suspect was located a short time later and taken into custody.
An 18-year-old male from Lakefield has been charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm
The accused was later released from custody.
The investigation remains ongoing and has been assumed by the Criminal Investigations Branch.
