KAWARTHA LAKES-“Edgewood changed hands a few times after its original owner Willie Boyd died, before passing to Dr. Henderson, who was from New York City. Each spring Dr. Henderson brought his boat, the Islamorada to Bobcaygeon and tied it up in front of Edgewood. He took his friends from the village out on his boat, and “he had a staff on the boat, about seven people. In the winter time, his boat was in Florida. Before he left in the fall, he would invite all the business people in town. To come on board and they would cruise over to Pigeon Lake. When he left again, he would go through the locks back to New York. They told me that there was about two inches on either side of the boat when he was passing through the locks. The last time the boat went, Bill Gordon and Tommy Anderson were invited to go with him for the trip and then I think they came back by train.”
