KAWARTHA LAKES-On Saturday August 29, 2026 at approximately 4:07 pm members of the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP responded to reports of a disturbance on Front Street in Bobcaygeon. Police say the person fled prior to police arrival but was located in the area operating a motor vehicle. An investigation into impaired driving commenced and the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving related offences under the Criminal Code of Canada.
A 25-year old from Bobcaygeon was scharged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
The accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
