Loaded Handgun Seized, Three People Charged Following Execution Of Search Warrant In Campbellford

CAMPBELLFORD-Three people are facing charges following the execution of a Criminal Code search warrant in Campbellford.

On August 27, 2026, members of the Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team (ERT), and Canine Unit (K9), executed a search warrant at a residence on Grand Road.

Police say three people fled on foot from the property and were subsequently arrested nearby. As a result of the search, officers seized a loaded firearm according to police.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police are seeking a fourth individual in connection with the incident.

A 44-year-old man from Campbellford, has been charged with:

–      Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm

–      Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm

–      Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition

–      Tampering with a serial number of a firearm

–      Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order

–      Fail to comply with probation order – two counts

A 45-year-old man from Campbellford, has been charged with:

–      Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm

–      Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm

–      Tampering with a serial number of a firearm

–      Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order

–      Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition

–      Fail to comply with probation order

A 39-year-old of Campbellford, has been charged with:

–      Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm

–      Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm

–      Tampering with a serial number of a firearm

–      Fail to comply with probation order

–      Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition

All accused were held to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
