KAWARTHA LAKES-After Mossom Boyd’s sawmill on the Little Bob Channel was demolished in 1908, the site was redeveloped as a hydro electric generating station. “The original powerhouse was replaced in 1938 with a new powerhouse. This is the second electric building, and if you go down to that dam there, by the pool, you will still see the indents, in the dam, showing where that electrical plant used to be. By the time this picture was taken, it was a concrete dam, but it must have been a wooden dam to begin with. I heard that electricity came to the village in 1929.”
