KAWARTHA LAKES- A 19-year-old Lindsay man, who is on probation, is facing new charges after a stabbing.
Kawartha Lakes Police say in the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 4, 2026, officers received information which initiated an investigation into an alleged assault with a weapon.
Police responded and spoke with the victim, who reported that he had been stabbed in the foot by a male known to him. As a result of the investigation, officers arrested the accused. The weapon involved was also seized by police.
A 19-year-old Lindsay man was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing. He has been charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon contrary to Section 267(a) of the Criminal Code;
- Failure to Comply with a Probation Order contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code; and
- Failure to Comply with a Release Order contrary to Section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code.
The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
