PETERBOROUGH-A 45-year-old tractor trailer driver is facing several charges under the Highway Traffic Act after a report of a tractor trailer stuck in the front yard of a residence.
At approximately 12:25pm on Thursday, April 16, 2026, Peterborough Police officers were called to the area of North Monaghan Parkway and Whittington Drive.
After the removal of the vehicle from the property, members of the Traffic Services Unit conducted an inspection of the truck and trailer combination. Following the inspection, several defects were found with the braking system according to police.
As a result, a 45-year-old Brampton man was charged under the Highway Traffic Unit with:
- Careless driving
- Disobey sign
- Improper braking system – commercial motor vehicle
- Push rod stroke exceeds prescribed limit – commercial motor vehicle
- Drive commercial motor vehicle with a major defect in it or in drawn vehicle
- Fail to enter defect in daily inspection report
- Operate unsafe vehicle – commercial motor vehicle
Officers removed and seized the plates from the vehicle.
