KAWARTHA LAKES-A 41-year-old Omemee man is facing impaired charges after an incident Saturday afternoon.
At approximately 12:50pm on February 7, 2026, Peterborough Police officers were called to a business on Chemong Road in Peterborough about a possible impaired driver. Upon arrival, to the store officers spoke with the driver of the vehicle and noticed signs of impairment according to police.
As a result, a 41-year-old Omemee man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court March 17, 2026.
