PETERBOROUGH COUNTY-Officers from the Peterborough County OPP have charged an individual after receiving a call regarding a family dispute.
On Monday January 4, 2026, at approximately 6:30pm, Officers were dispatched to a report of a heated family dispute at a residence in the Municipality of Trent Lakes. Officers were told that two adult siblings had gotten into an argument that escalated to violence. At one point, one of the siblings struck the other and then followed with another strike with a stick according to police. A parent of the siblings was present at the time as well.
Officers arrived on scene and spoke with all parties. As a result of their investigation, one of the two siblings was arrested.
A 63-year-old male was arrested and charged with;
• Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
• Assault with a weapon
• Assault
The accused was held for Bail to appear before the Ontario court of Justice in Peterborough.
