Single-Vehicle Collision Results In Impaired Driving Charges

PETERBOROUGH COUNTY-A 26-year-old Fraserville man is facing impaired driving charges after a crash early New Years Day.

On Thursday January 1, 2026, at approximately 5:00am, Peterborough County OPP were dispatched to a single vehicle collision on Stenner Road in Douro-Dummer Township. The caller advised that an individual had arrived at their residence stating they crashed their vehicle. The individual eventually returned to the vehicle after police had been contacted.

The individual was arrested and transported to the Peterborough County OPP detachment for testing where samples were provided over double the legal limit according to police.

Matthew D’Entremont of Fraserville, ON., was arrested and charged with;

• Operation while impaired

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80+)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on February 10, 2026 and had their driver’s licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.
