PETERBOROUGH-Peterborough County OPP officers have charged a Curve lake resident with impaired driving after conducting a traffic stop.
On Monday December 22, 2025, at approximately 8:30pm, a Peterborough County OPP officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Young’s Point Road, to check the sobriety of the driver. Police say the officer, after speaking with the driver determined them to be impaired. The driver was arrested and transported to the Peterborough County OPP detachment for further tests.
71-year-old Sandy Benson was arrested and charged with;
• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough at a future date.
The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.
