PETERBOROUGH-An investigation by the Peterborough Police Service Drug Unit has resulted in a significant seizure of cocaine and fentanyl.
At approximately 2:15pm on Thursday, July 31, 2025, officers with the Drug Unit arrested a 48-year-old Peterborough man. They then executed a search warrant at a residence in the Water Street and Marina Boulevard area.
In total officers reportedly seized:
- Approximately 1.2 kilograms of Cocaine
- Approximately 1 kilogram of Fentanyl
- Approximately 380 Hydromorphone Pills
- Drug paraphernalia
- Cell phones
- Approximately $21,000 in Canadian currency
The street value of the drugs is estimated at $220,000.
As a result, 48-year-old David Soady of Peterborough was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Fentanyl
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Hydromorphone
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, August 1, 2025.
