Canadian Mental Health Association Learning Centre Invites Community to Spread Positivity Through Art

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Canadian Mental Health Association, Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge’s (CMHA HKPR) H.O.P.E. Learning Centre is inviting members of the Peterborough and Lindsay communities to join us for two uplifting events this August. The H.O.P.E. Learning Centre will be hosting it’s annual Art Splash event celebrating creativity, connection, and mental health awareness.

These free, drop-in events will take place:

Peterborough: Thursday, August 8, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Millennium Park (by the Silver Bean Café)

Lindsay: Thursday, August 15, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Victoria Park

Art Splash is all about brightening the day of passers-by with encouraging chalk art and inspiring messages. Chalk will be provided, and everyone is welcome to stop by, draw, write, or simply enjoy the colourful atmosphere. The goal is to remind our communities that hope and healing are always possible.

Each event will also feature a water station and an information table where attendees can learn more about the H.O.P.E. Learning Centre’s free mental health and wellness courses. These courses are co-designed and co-delivered by individuals with lived experience, and focus on recovery, empowerment, and connection.
