Hydro One Launches Ice Storm 2025 Recovery Grant For Municipalities

KAWARTHA LAKES-Hydro One has launched a community recovery grant to assist the hardest hit areas with the impact of the 2025 ice storm.

“We’ve seen the devastation caused by the ice storm firsthand and know cleanup will continue long after power is restored. Some places may never look the same. We will be there as they rebuild and provide support through our Ice Storm 2025: Recovery Grant. Directly impacted Indigenous communities and municipalities can apply for a grant of up to $10,000 to support relief and recovery efforts in their local community.”

The storm rolled through Ontario on March 29 and 30th leaving hundreds of thousands of homes without hydro. Many in the City of Kawartha Lakes remain without power today.

Applications will open on Monday, April 7.
