KAWARTHA LAKES-Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for the City of Kawartha Lakes.
Officials say strong southwesterly winds will develop Monday afternoon with gusts up to 70 or 80 km/h.
High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Power outages are also possible beginning Monday afternoon and could continue into Monday night.
Winds will gradually decrease through tonight. In addition, a strong cold front will move through the region tonight. This front may be associated with bursts of heavy snow and blowing snow giving significantly reduced visibility along with a sharp temperature drop.
