KAWARTHA LAKES-Two Lindsay residents have been charged in connection with multiple thefts from local businesses.
Police say on January 20, 2025 a man entered a local business and concealed a large quantity of cosmetics before leaving the store without paying. Police say the mane was caught on video surveillance on two other days stealing additional items. Using the video officers located the male on January 25th 2025 at 11:10pm and placed him under arrest. A 49-year-old from Lindsay, ON was charged with 3 counts each of Theft Under $5000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.
Between January 23rd 2025 and January 25th 2025, a male suspect entered into two local alcohol retailers and concealed items before leaving the store without paying according to police. The incidents were captured on video surveillance where officers identified the suspect who was later caught when officers on general patrol located him on Russell St W. where he was arrested. A 30-year-old male from Lindsay, ON was charged with 3 counts each of Theft Under $5000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
