Annual Fenelon Falls Turkey Trot A Big Success

KAWARTHA LAKES-The annual Fenelon Falls Turkey Trot took place Saturday October 12th at Garnet Graham Park in Fenelon Falls Ontario.

Nearly 400 people registered for the event, a 400% increase in last three years.

The course route followed the Kawartha Rail Trail north east from Garnet Graham Park.

The fall colours were at their peak as the runners enjoyed great scenery along the way including views of Cameron Lake.

“The day went off without a hitch after many hours of preparation”, stated Dave Robinson Race Director. It was great to see the turnout and all the smiling faces coming through the finish line.

The overall winners were as follows:

5k

Female Tesca Bryn       Whitby 19:35

Male Bernie Hogan           Bancroft 17:38

10K

Female Sadie Jane Hickson  Guelph 34:33 new course record

Male Daniel Fournier       Toronto 33:45 new course record

1k

Female Briar Hoult Georgina 4:14

Male Liam Russell Oshawa 3:51 new course record

Top three winners in the 5k and 10k received custom wood plaques and cash prizes totaling $2200 for their efforts.

The 1k winners received wood medals and a $50 gift card to Runners Life in Peterborough

Age group participants received wood medals three deep in ten year age groups from 13 to 70+

All participants received a finishers medal, custom cotton t shirt and a light lunch.

A donation of $2200 was made to the Fenelon Falls Turkey Trot.
