2024 Lindsay Sports Hall Of Fame Inductees Announced

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Lindsay and District Sports Hall of Fame announced its 2024 candidates for induction at a ceremony at Boston  Pizza in Lindsay.  These five candidates will be formally inducted to the ‘Hall’ Sunday, October 20th, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at the Lindsay Armoury. 1    Little Britain Junior ‘C’ Hockey Organization
–    longest operating Junior Hockey Franchise in Ontario,
–    owned, operated and managed by one family
45 years – by Art Field and family
–     awarded prestigious ‘Golden Stick’ by O.H.A.

 

2.    Bruce Faulkner (Not present)
–    founded and chaired the Lindsay Lightning Bolts Swim Club (1978)
–    has sent swimmers to the Olympics
–    community builder

 

3.    Peter Sanderson
–    Head Coach of men’s & women’s fastball and baseball teams in the 70’s, 80’s & 90’s
–    several All-Ontario Championships
–    extensive community involvement

 

4    Mark Sadgrove
–    founder and general manager of the ‘Canada Moose’ Hockey Team (men’s & women’s)
–    ambassador for Canadian Hockey with yearly trips to various countries around the world – (30 years)
–    former pro-hockey player

 

5.    Bobcaygeon 1974 Midget Ti-Cats
–    all Ontario Champions; 50th Anniversary!
–    seven players drafted to Junior ‘A’ teams

Kelly Doyle Long Term Community Volunteer Service Award for Sports & Recreation
–    Garth Davidson
