KAWARTHA LAKES-A 42-year-old from Norland is facing charges after reportedly being found unresponsive behind the wheel of a vehicle in Lindsay.
On Monday July 29th, 2024 at approximately 8:15pm Kawartha Lakes Police Service received a call regarding a vehicle with an unresponsive driver parked in a local business parking lot in Lindsay. Police say officers arrived on scene and located the vehicle still running and after several attempts, police were able to wake the driver up.Â
The driver was assessed by paramedics and cleared medically. Further investigation revealed that the 42-year-old male from Norland was impaired. The driver was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance
In addition to the charges, the driver received a 90 -day driver’s licence suspension, the vehicle was impounded for 7 days and the driver will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on September 12th 2024.
