PETERBOROUGH-A 48-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges in connection with the assault of an infant earlier this year after an investigation by Peterborough Police Investigative Services.
Officers were contacted about a two and ½ month old infant with serious and unexplained injuries on February 19th. Police say the infant was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre and then flown to Hospital for Sick Children for treatment.
As a result of the investigation, on Friday, April 19, 2024, a 48-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court April 19, 2024.
In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.
