Driver Of Vehicle Involved In Serious Crash In November Now Facing Numerous Charges

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 57-year-old man from Somerville Township is facing numerous charges after a crash on November 5, 2023.

Police say on April 04, 2024 the driver and single occupant of the pick-up truck was arrested and charged with additional charges related to the investigation.

• Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
• Operation while Impaired – Blood Concentration (80 plus)
• Operation Causing Bodily Harm x 3 counts

Officers closed Hwy 35 for a serious collision involving a pickup truck and passenger vehicle on November 05, 2023 at approximately 3:05 pm.  Police say emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and passenger vehicle.

Four patients were sent to Toronto Hospitals for treatment, one of which was airlifted.

The highway was closed from Powells Road to Country Lane Road for approximately 7 hours for the duration of an investigation with the OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists.
