NORTHUMBERLAND-An officer from the Northumberland OPP was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 401 westbound on January 30 at approximately 3:15 a.m., when a passenger vehicle was recorded travelling at 147 kilometers per hour.
A traffic stop was conducted and following speaking with the driver, police entered into a suspended driver investigation. Police say a search of the driver and vehicle yielded suspected 13 grams of Cocaine, five Fentanyl patches and a quantity of Oxycodone, Hydromorphone and Amineptine tablets and Canadian currency.
As a result, 20-year-old Sean Pierre from Brampton has been charged with traffick in Schedule I substance – Cocaine, traffick in Schedule I substance – Opioid – three counts, traffick in Schedule III substance – other drugs, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, speeding and driving while under suspension – two counts.
The vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
