PETERBOROUGH-Peterborough County OPP has charged two people in connection with a death that occurred in November of 2022.
On November 4 officers responded to a sudden death on a rental property in the Municipality of Trent Lakes. The deceased was identified as 76-year-old John Fever of Peterborough County.
As a result of the investigation, on January 18, 2024, the Peterborough County OPP Crime Unit made an arrest and charged one person contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).
62-year-old Heather Connolly of Curve Lake has been charged with Causing Death by Criminal Negligence and Fail to Provide Necessaries of Life.
On January 25, 2024, the Peterborough County OPP Crime Unit arrested and charged a second person contrary to the Criminal Code.
72-year-old Brenda Booth of Curve Lake has also been charged with Causing Death by Criminal Negligence and Fail to Provide Necessaries of Life.
Both accused were held for bail and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on a later date.
The investigation is being conducted by the Peterborough County OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from OPP Forensic Identification Services, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
