Globus Theatre Announces 2024 Season With 10 Shows

KAWARTHA LAKES-Globus Theatre’s 21st season of plays, music and comedy is scheduled to run from May 10 to December 15 and features 10 mainstage shows and 3 special events.

“We are delighted to be opening our season early again, in May. Last year’s community response to our extended season was incredible and that, coupled with the success to date of our ongoing capital campaign, means this will now be the ‘new normal’ for Globus.” James Barrett, Artistic Producer

The season will include the World Premiere of The Dating Game by Olivier Award-winning playwright Peter Quilter (Glorious, End of the Rainbow); the first live stage version of popular sports podcast, This Day in Sports; and an intimate special event concert of songs and storytelling from Globus favourite Mark Whelan. There are also two original Murder Mysteries, shows from Globus mainstays Norm Foster and Leisa Way; and, to coincide with the International Ploughing Match being held in the Kawartha Lakes this year, a rural Canadian comedy Buying the Farm.

“After the success of last year’s 20th anniversary season, planning something to top it in 2024 has been a daunting task…but I think we’ve done it! It took a while. Programming 10 mainstage shows and 3 special events that combine to show theatrical diversity and something for everyone, is no small task – but it is a lot of fun! In the past few weeks a lot of exciting things have slotted into place; new plays that we will premiere, and conversations with fantastic performers who we are thrilled to be bringing to Bobcaygeon”. Sarah Quick, Artistic Director

The 2024 Season runs May 10 to December 15, 2024.
