Fundraiser Set Up For Mother And Son After Home Damaged In Fire On Russell Street In Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES- Lisa and her son Dylan van der Veen awoke to a fire blazing in the home next door on December 17th.

Two homes were impacted with one fully involved when fire crews arrived on site on Russell Street East in Lindsay at approximately 2am. Fire Chief Terry Jones says the fire spread to a second home, which is where Lisa and her son were living. It sustained approximately $50,000 in damages.

Lisa, Dylan and their dog and cat were able to escape unharmed but there has been significant damage to the interior of their house due to fire, smoke and water according to the fundraiser. Their bedrooms received the most damage.
Police are now investigating the main fire which completely destroyed the home next the the van der Veen’s.
