Kanata Teen Facing Stunt Driving Charges In Peterborough

PETERBOROUGH-An 18-year-old Kanata man is facing stunt driving charges after a traffic stop Saturday evening.

Police say at approximately 10:30pm on December 2, 2023, an officer on traffic duty recorded a vehicle travelling 129km/h in a 50km/h zone in the area of Water Street and Carnegie Avenue and conducted a traffic stop.

As a result, the driver was charged with:

  • Speeding 50+ Km/h over posted limit
  • Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform stunt – Excessive speed

The driver was given a 30-day license suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
