KAWARTHA LAKES-A 55-year-old Lakefield man is facing several charges after an overnight incident. It was learned the accused was also wanted on a warrant by the Peterborough OPP.
On Thursday, October 19, 2023, Kawartha Lakes Police were made aware of a dispute between two family members. Officers learned that a verbal dispute between family members escalated to include threats against a female victim and a male known to the family according to police.
As a result of this investigation, Kawartha Lakes Police with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police executed search warrants at two locations. During the search, officers arrested the accused, who was in possession of a small quantity of fentanyl and cocaine. Officers also located ammunition.
As a result of the investigation, a 55-year-old Lakefield man was arrested and charged with:
- Uttering threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm X2
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance X2
- Fail to Comply with Release Order
- Fail to Comly with Probation Order
The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, Located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on October 23, 2023.
