Man In Custody After Stabbing In Peterborough This Morning

PETERBOROUGH-Police say one man is in custody after a disturbance was reported at a residence in Peterborough.

At approximately 8:07 am on August 18 officers were called to the area of Sherbrooke Street and Park Place.  Upon arrival, officers learned that during the disturbance one male suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound and was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre treated and released.

As part of the investigation, K9 was called in and made a successful track to the area of Park Street and Parnell Street where officers were able to take a suspect into custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, August 18, 2023.
