PETERBOROUGH-Police say just after midnight, an officer was operating a police cruiser in the area of Charlotte Street and Rubidge Street.
Once the cruiser entered the intersection, the cruiser was struck, causing the cruiser to spin and come into contact with a nearby pole according to police. The collision was captured on the in-car camera.
As a result, a Peterborough man was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
-  Red light – fail to stop.
The officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre and later released. The Police cruiser sustained heavy damage and has been removed from service.
