KAWARTHA LAKES-City of Kawartha Lakes OPP entered into an impaired driving investigation following an interaction at a Ride program which resulted in one driver being arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
On July 15 just before 10 am officers on patrol in Fenelon Township on Long Beach Road were conducting a Ride Program. After an interaction with a driver, 72-year-old Ross Cameron of Fenelon Falls was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Drive vehicle with Cannabis readily available
- Operation while Impaired – alcohol or drugs
- Obstruct Plate
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay later, and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
“If you plan on consuming drugs or alcohol please arrange a safe ride home. If you suspect someone to be operating a motor vehicle while impaired please call 9-1-1.” Â said police.
