Emergency Outage Leaves 3,200 Hydro One Customers In Kawartha Lakes Without Power On Wednesday Night

KAWARTHA LAKES-Approximately 3200 customers were cut off from the hydro grid on Wednesday night due to an emergency outage.

Officials say Hydro One crews discovered that a tree had fallen onto a main powerline last evening. To remove it as quickly and safely as possible, they instituted an emergency outage in the Burnt River area. Around 3,200 customers were left without power, which lasted about 2 hours.

“Both our forestry and line crews were onsite to ensure the best outcome for everyone.” said Bianca Teixeira, Media Relations Hydro One.

Power has since been restored.
