Peterborough Police Officer Injured After Police Pursuit, Cruiser Rammed

PETERBOROUGH-Peterborough Police are searching for a vehicle after an officer was injured during an incident early Wednesday evening.

Police say an off-duty officer spotted a vehicle being driven erratically eastbound on Lansdowne Street between Lock Street and Goodfellow Road at approximately 6:10pm on May 3. On-duty officers located and followed the vehicle on Goodfellow Road, attempting to make a vehicle stop, however, it allegedly continued to accelerate, and the pursuit was called off for safety reasons.

Several minutes later in the Talwood Drive and Whitefield Drive area, an officer located the vehicle again. According to police the suspect vehicle failed to stop again, ramming a police vehicle before driving off.  The officer suffered minor injuries.  The vehicle continued eastbound on Sherbrooke St and the second pursuit was called off for safety reasons.

The vehicle is described as:

  • GMC Pick Up
  • Brown/Goldish in colour
  • License Plate CRHR 807

The driver is described as:

  • White, male
  • Early 30’s
  • Longer dark hair
  • Scruffy
