HALIBURTON-Saying “yes” to ENCORE paid off for Larry Blanchard of Haliburton. He matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the February 24, 2023 LOTTO MAX draw to win $100,000!
Larry said he’s been playing the lottery for over 15 years and admits he has a bad habit of stuffing all his lottery tickets in his wallet until it gets too full. “When my wallet gets too thick with tickets, I head to the store and scan them all at once. When I scanned this one and saw $100,000, I thought it was a mistake,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I was confused because none of the numbers matched – then I realized I won on ENCORE.”
Larry shared his news with his wife next. “I said that I heard someone in Haliburton won the lottery, then asked her what she would do with $100,000. Then I said, ‘Guess what? I’m the one who won!’ She was so happy!” he said.
He plans to purchase some parts for his tractor and take his wife on a trip to Halifax. “It feels absolutely amazing. It gives me a sense of comfort,” he concluded.
The winning ticket was purchased at Shell on Main Street in Bobcaygeon.
