Winter Weather Travel Advisory Issued For Kawartha Lakes And Peterborough Areas

KAWARTHA LAKES-Weather advisories are being issued by Environment Canada in advance of a storm blowing through tonight and into tomorrow.

Weather advisory in effect for:

  • Apsley – Woodview – Northern Peterborough County
  • Fenelon Falls – Balsam Lake Park – Northern Kawartha Lakes

Winter weather travel advisory in effect for tonight into Tuesday morning with snow, heavy at times, with total amounts of 5 to 10 cm. Peak snowfall rates of 2 centimetres per hour.
Reduced visibility in heavy snow and slippery surfaces due to accumulating snow. The snow will taper off on Tuesday morning.

Weather advisory in effect for:

  • Lindsay – Southern Kawartha Lakes
  • Peterborough City – Lakefield – Southern Peterborough County

Winter weather travel advisory in effect for tonight.

This winter weather travel advisory has been upgraded from a special weather statement that was previously in effect for this area.

Snow and ice pellets with amounts near 5 cm and local amounts up to 10 cm possible.
Risk of freezing rain and freezing drizzle. Untreated surfaces may become icy and slippery.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.
