Ajax Man Charged After Stolen Vehicle Recovered In Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 42-year-old man from Ajax is facing charges after a stolen vehicle was recovered in Lindsay.

On Sunday, February 26, 2023, at 12:27PM the Kawartha Lakes Police received a call regarding a male attempting to gain access to vehicles in a parking lot located on Highway 36 South in Lindsay. Police say the male was observed leaving the area in a white Mazda sedan. While on route officers say they learned the vehicle observed had been reported stolen from Durham Region. At 4:26PM an officer located the stolen vehicle travelling on Highway 36 South, conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver.

A 42-year-old male from Ajax has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, fail to comply with probation X3 and failure to comply with release order.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on April 6, 2023.
