Charges Laid After Attempted Robbery At Business On William Street In Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-30-year-old Lindsay women is facing charges after an incident at a William Street North business.  

Police say at approximately 1:20AM on Saturday, February 18, 2023, officers were called to a business on William Street North for a robbery in progress. Upon arrival officers were told that the female had entered the store and wrote a note to the cashier. The note demanded money and indicated she had a gun. The suspect was still in the store when police arrived and was placed under arrest.

During a search of the accused, officers say they located a knife. As a result of the investigation, Britannia Nelson of Lindsay has been charged with attempt to commit robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, disguise with intent and failure to comply with release order.

The accused was held in custody and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on February 22, 2023.
